Welcome to the 2013 Fairmount Sports Association Baseball Softball and T-ball season!   Together we begin our journey of spring - summer fun for the kids!   We are very fotunate to have our fields redone supported by our local City Council members Darryl Clarke and Bill Greenlee.  Fairmount Sports Association offers T-Ball (ages 4-6), Boys 7-9 rookie league (machine pitch), 6-8 girls softball (machine pitch), 9-10 girls softball - league pitch if enough players are available to form 2 leagues.  If not, we will continue to offer 6_10 girls softball (machine pitch)/.  FSA also provides 10-12 Boys Junior Baseball (live pitch), 11-16 girls softball (live pitch), 13-16 senior baseball (live pitch).

Fairmount Sports Association also provides league clinics and travel teams which have participated in the Department of Recreation, Peanut League, and Phillies RBI league.  Past tournament participation included Roxborough, Walt Disney Sports Complex in Orlando FL, Cooperstown NY, and Gloucester City.  Teams also play other teams from the surrounding area via intra league games.

Each league is managed by a commissioner with many years of experience and in most cases have either played and/or coached at various levels.  League games are scheduled during the week – rookie, junior and senior leagues may play more than (1) game during the week (usually starting at 5:30 p.m.) and on weekends and depending on the league – may have an early start time of 8:30 a.m. (one game per team on Sat and/or Sun).  All league games are played at Von Colln fields located at 23rd & Pennsylvania Ave.  Some games may occasionally be played on alternate fields (Dairy Fields and /or Ball Field located on the west side of the Park Towne Condo Complex).

Please, have fun – communicate with your coaches – check your schedules and lend a hand whenever you can – remember, this is an all-VOLUNTEER organization.  Our goal is a simple one – provide a fun filled learning environment for the kids worth remembering thru organized sports; working together, I am certain we can accomplish our goals!  Over the years, many of our volunteers have traveled the same path you are on today – we value this special place called Fairmount Sports Association and we hope you will do the same!  As we move forward into the season – a few short points worth noting:
  • Allow yourselves ample time traveling to games; the parkway is full of spring and summer events and some delays will occur
  • No parking on the grass; this is a tow away zone and this area also is reserved for parents and kids sit to watch the games
  • Participate in your required Kitchen - Field (4) hour volunteer time.  The schedule will be posted for each team (you have agreed to this when you signed up); check your contract, failure to participate for your required time will forfeit your right to participate in Fairmount Sports Association
  • Let the kids play – Cheer for your team but please keep things in proper perspective
  • Please do not heckle or give our umpires a hard time – they are volunteers and any unsportsmanlike conduct will not be tolerated – no exceptions
  • When walking to or from games, please be courteous and remain off the playing fields (no shortcuts)
  • Please keep Von Colln Fields clean - pick up your trash -thank you!
  • Please do not sit or set up to watch games on the playing fields
  • Most of all - HAVE FUN!

Everybody Hits!
